Initial Consultation
Before anything, I would like to have a consultation with you! This is where I met you and your pup at the location of your choice. We will discuss your dogs history, triggers, training goals, lifestyle, and any other dog related questions you may have while I spend time building a bond with your dog. This is also a great time for me to observe them and their personality. I am fluent in Spanish as well. 1 hour consultation is $30. Over the phone consultations can also be provided. Discounts apply to house holds with 2 or more dogs in training!

All training plans include socialization with my well balanced dogs (optional), discussions/advice on any dog topic like genetics, play techniques, dog psychology, body language, triggers, spay/neuter, diet, and more. Boarding is also available for dogs that I have worked with a minimum of 5 times. Refer a friend and get $40 off your next training session!

Behavior Modification
Behavior modification is for dogs who struggle with reactivity, aggression, over excitement, resource guarding and other undesirable behaviors. Obedience ties into this by establishing a better understanding and leadership between you and the dog showing them what is allowed and what is not. These cases usually require more patience, time, and risk. I will be here to help you through every step of the way. This training will help your dog socialize and become neutral around triggers. You will also learn more about triggers, warnings before they may happen, genetics, and more.

The importance of proper socialization
Socialization can mean so things depending on who you ask. To me, socialization means proper exposure to new smells, animals, environments, textures, sounds, and many other things. Rather than just flooding the dog and making them shut down, I like to use positive reinforcement to encourage dogs to be more confident and comfortable getting outside of their shell. Socialization increases your dogs confidence by showing them that they can get through and over scary overwhelming things, this can also help teach them how to react in uncomfortable situations. This is very important to help prevent your dog from being very fearful which can lead to reactivity and other issues. It's also important to remember that it's not all in how you raise them and genetics matter, not every dog is confident and not every dog will want to be around others but neutrality is the goal.
Proper dog on dog socialization is also extremely important in helping dogs understand pack dynamics and other social behaviors. A lot of dogs really benefit off of interacting and playing with one another. You don't just throw dogs together and let them figure it out, I always make sure to closely monitor body language to make sure everyone is comfortable. 1 bad experience can really ruin some dogs so it's important to always watch what dogs your letting your interact with yours. Dog parks are very dangerous for this reason. You want your dog to associate being with others as a positive thing, not an overwhelming experience when they fear for their safety.
